Robotic Rebar

Construction

Design flexibility. Automated production. Material efficiency.

Decoding Rebar - from Design to Construction

Assembly

Our MESH Rebar Printer

creates 3D rebar structures

directly from CAD.

Handling

With MESH Actuate we automate

your rebar handling operations

Print on Demand.

MESH prints rebar cages

on demand for special projects.

With 5 industrial robots

and a bending machine,

we support flagship, projects

to showcase what the

MESH Technology is capable of.

Applications in construction

Curved walls without expensive formwork needed.
Designed on the computer, fabricated with robots. This doubly curved and fully reinforced wall is constructed using four prefabricated mesh elements.
Our award-winning technology is already in use at the DFAB HOUSE in Zurich.
The 12-m-long undulating wall carries approximately 100 tons of load.
Create a unique architectural expression by the inherent production logic of shotcrete finishing.
Establish a perfectly smooth surface finish by treating the concrete cover.

Dangerous and unhealthy physical labor is now automated, shifting human work to design and control.

Developed

at ETH Zurich

Mesh Mould is the world's first technology to combine formwork and reinforcement within a digital fabrication process.

It is based on a decade of extensive research conducted at ETH Zurich. In 2018, the technological breakthrough was achieved: In Zurich the DFAB HOUSE was robotically fabricated, making it the first real-world building application using the MESH technology.

The MESH AG, a spin-off company of ETH Zurich, was founded in 2022.
